RESPONSIBILITIES OF PARTNER GEP ENGLISH EXAMS TEST CENTERS

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Enforcing exams standards
  • Protecting confidentiality of exams
  • Abiding by financial agreements as stated in the Test Center Agreement
  • Recruiting and training test proctors and Speaking examiners (where available)
  • Comply with branding guidelines and copyright
  • Promoting GEP English Exams locally

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

VENUES

  • Ideally, the test site will be in classrooms in an educational institution or a place where computers can be arranged.
  • Other acceptable venues include hotel auditoriums or conference rooms.
  • Venues must meet all legal requirements for maximum capacity, fire exits, disability access, access to toilets, and access to water.
  • Only the test center’s designated testing staff and the candidates should be able to access the exam room.

 

SPACE AND SEATING

  • There must be enough space to seat candidates a minimum of 40” or 1 meter apart, preferably 50” or 1.25 meters between candidates. There should be no obstructions.
  • Computers or tablets must be provided for candidates to take the test.

 

LIGHT AND HEAT

  • The test centre must provide adequate lighting (neither too dim nor too bright) and a quiet and comfortable heating/cooling system.

 

SOUND

  • The exam room must be soundproofed from noises outside the room or the building to make sure they do not disturb candidates while taking the exam. All candidates need to have a headset (headphones and microphone) to be used for the listening sections of the exams.

 

STAFFING

Each room must have one invigilator for every 15 candidates and two for 25 students (minimum of two staff in each room).

 

MINIMUM CRITERIA FOR TEST CENTERS

Before continuing to the application page, please ensure your institution meets the following criteria.

Is your institution:

  • A financially sound educational institution, such as a language school or licensed testing center. It can also be done by companies or corporations.
  • Able to provide adequate facilities to administer the exams
  • Able to securely receive, store, and ship confidential documents when needed
  • Able to handle test-related financial transactions
  • Able to provide qualified instructors and staff to administer a secure administration, including administrative and supervisory staff; staff to act as examiners and proctors for exams, and staff to train examiners to conduct oral interviews
  • Able to recruit, hire, and train additional qualified personnel as needed for the test administration
  • Able to guarantee to provide consistency in test administrations among candidates, among venues, and from year to year
  • Willing and able to publicize the exams and disseminate information about them
  • Willing to accommodate candidates with disabilities, following iTest English procedural guidelines
  • Willing to administer the exams to candidates who are not affiliated with the test center’s educational institute
  • Committed to maintaining the highest possible standards with respect to the administration and security of the exams
  • Committed to respecting confidentiality of candidates’ results and personal data
  • Committed to being fair and impartial in dealing with candidates
  • Committed to cooperating fully with Global Language Training and other Global-authorized test centers
  • Committed to following all Global policies and procedures regarding the testing programs and committed to being an exemplary representative of Global
  • Committed to working with Global to make the exams affordable to candidates
